Flyco clipper battery died, replaced with a portable spot welder. Dug an old-stock Flyco clipper out of the warehouse, battery gone, needed new cells; none of the flat-top cells I bought reached 400 capacity, so I had to buy button-top, which have plenty — fitted them, and it now runs twice as long as new. Dug out of the warehouse a complete Flyco clipper that sat unused for years (30 units in stock); the battery is dead and needs replacing. Brand-new AA cells are prepared, since it is two in series; the two are slightly different in capacity, production date 2025. Spot welding: line up the nickel strip, one tack and it won’t come off, tack both cells, every one pressed in close, welded fairly solid; then soldered onto the board and refitted. The original was 700mAh; the new cell measured a full 1300mAh on the capacity tester. 3 screws in total and it is done; the top is all oil, just wipe it. From the title: none of the flat-top cells bought reached 400, so button-top it had to be, and it now runs twice as long as new; the portable spot welder works great and welds very solid.
