Repair Xiao Li: the H2 shared earlier was called underpowered, so AWithZ sent another high-power sample (UK1): foot pedal, manual / auto, small screen, 100 gears; comes with charging cable, main unit, welding pen, nickel strip and two pairs of pins; first power-on, pick mode a/b, dials in gear 20 at random and welds 0.15 nickel strip, ‘very solid, beautiful’, gear 100 should handle heavy work; gripes that every welder’s cable is too short and wants 2 m; comments: a long cable adds resistance and cuts current, recommending it without knowing how to set it, the P120 is great but pricey
Many people said the welder shared earlier (H2) is a bit underpowered and can’t do big batches, so today another one, also AWithZ — they sent another sample, a high-power one. Press start and there’s a small screen; it comes with a foot pedal (control the welding pace with your foot), manual control is also possible, and of course auto; charging cable, main unit, welding pen, plus ‘welding rods’ (nickel strip) and two pins. Power on, pick a mode, should be a or b (never played with it), the gear keeps going up, 100 gears in all, no idea what’s right so gear 20; first time switched on, ‘misspoke, 0.15mm’, try a weld on 0.15 nickel strip; no 18650 at home so weld straight onto the strip; feels like the power is a bit high, the 0.15 strip is already very solid, very beautiful, this is only gear 20, at gear 100 the heavy stuff should be fine too, very nice. But no idea why every spot welder’s cable is this short — 2 m long would be better for batch welding without following the machine around, maybe cost or maybe not suited to carrying high current; 0–100 gears adjustable, high-power welding no problem. Comments: bought an AWithZ P120, works great, just pricey (2); doesn’t know how to set it yet recommends others buy it, a long cable adds resistance and hurts the instantaneous current (1); this little tool is fine under 0.2mm, above that it won’t hold, a microwave transformer does 0.4; cable is expensive / a long cable adds internal resistance (several); self-taught, hasn’t figured it out and already selling.
Outcome
| Goal | Unbox the high-power sample AWithZ sent (UK1), test-weld 0.15 nickel strip |
| Build | UK1 + 0.15 nickel strip |
| Result | Gear 20 welds 0.15 very solidly · verified on camera: 122–148s pull after welding, ‘very solid’ |

1. Background: H2 called underpowered; AWithZ sends a high-power sampleThe welder shared earlier is a bit underpowered, can’t do big batches; introducing another AWithZ, they sent another sample, high-power; press start and there’s a small screen.

2. Accessories: foot pedal, manual / auto, charging cable, main unit, welding pen, nickel strip, two pairs of pinsFoot pedal for foot control of welding; manual control too; auto too; charging cable, main unit, welding pen; plus ‘welding rods’ (nickel strip) and two pins (one per pen).
00:26 – 01:05
3. Power on, pick mode a/b; 100 gears, gear 20 at random; 0.15 nickel stripPower on; mode should be a or b, never played with it; the gear keeps going up, 100 in all; no idea what’s right, gear 20; first time switched on; ‘misspoke, 0.15mm’, try 0.15 nickel strip.
01:05 – 01:46
4. No 18650, weld straight onto strip: power a bit high, 0.15 very solid; gear 100 for heavy workNo 18650 at home, weld straight on like this; feels like the power is a bit high; 0.15 strip is already very solid, very beautiful; only gear 20, gear 100 will handle heavy work, very nice.
01:47 – 02:28
5. Gripe about the short cable, wants 2 m; 0–100 gears, heavy welding no problemEvery spot welder’s cable is this short, 2 m would let you batch-weld without following it around; maybe cost or unsuited to carrying high current; 0–100 gears adjustable, heavy welding no problem, beautiful.

Creator’s tips
- First time and unsure of the gear, try gear 20 on 0.15 nickel strip 01:19
- Comments: the pen cable can’t be long — a long cable adds resistance and hurts the instantaneous current
Pitfalls
- Creator admits not knowing how to set it and misstates the thickness; comments criticise ‘recommending without knowing how to set it’ 01:05
- Comments: above 0.2mm it won’t hold (experience)

Bought an AWithZ P120, works great, just pricey

Doesn’t even know how to set it and still recommends people buy it. A spot welder cable that’s too long adds resistance, cuts the instantaneous current and so hurts the weld

This little tool works under 0.2mm; above 0.2mm it just won’t hold. Mine’s made from a microwave transformer, works, welds up to 0.4mm.

Nickel strip, I guess

Learn a bit about current, voltage and cost and you’ll know why it’s short
Reply @百草花兔饲料:
Can’t be long, a long cable means not enough current
Reply @Bruce:
Seems there’s a ¥180 hand-built DIY one that also works well, except the welding pen is welding pins plugged straight into the lead.
