How to chooseQuick reference
Choosing nickel-strip thickness

0.1mm suits low-current 18650 discharge; 0.15–0.2mm for 21700 / power tools; copper and 0.3mm+ call for supercapacitor models.

When to use flux

For copper, Al-to-Ni or thick tabs, apply a little flux first, then test-weld at the setting from the lookup.

Pure nickel vs Ni-plated steel

Pure nickel conducts better and runs cooler for high-current discharge; Ni-plated steel is cheap and easy to weld for everyday repair and DIY.
