Before welding
- Use matched, healthy cells; never mix old and new.
- Insulate the positive terminal with barley paper and fix the holder before welding.
- Press the pins firmly, keep surfaces clean, and test on scrap first.
While welding
- Two spots per strip, even welds without sparking; lower the level if they darken.
- Keep the nickel strip off the neighbouring cell's negative terminal to avoid shorts.
After
- Always fit a BMS and wire the balance leads in series order.
- Watch the first charge; measure every series voltage before heat-shrinking.
