UF20B supercapacitor welder review: 1750A / 10.5kW; gear 15 welds nickel strip you can’t tear off, gear 28 handles thick nickel strip, dozens of welds in a row no problem; 99 gears + over-temperature / discharge protection
The creator introduces the AWithZ compact spot welder UF20B: supercapacitor inside, lighter and smaller than a traditional transformer welder, with big instantaneous power and high efficiency; the nameplate gives max output current 1750A, output power 10.5kW, input 100–240V. It comes with two welding pens (very thick leads), a switch for auto / manual, and a trigger port for a foot switch. In the test: gear 15 welds nickel strip onto a cell’s negative end — the welds look clean with no blackening, can’t be pulled off by hand, and pliers tear the nickel strip apart; switching to thick nickel strip at gear 28 on an old cell’s positive end is just as solid, the strip tears before the weld; dozens of welds in a row with no problem. Summary: 99 gears to choose from, suits nickel strip of different materials and thicknesses (up to 0.4mm), with over-temperature and discharge protection. In the comments the creator replies that a higher-power model that welds 1mm is in the shop window.

2. Two welding pens, auto / manual, foot-switch portComes with two welding pens; the switch selects auto and manual; the leads are very thick; the trigger port takes a foot switch.
00:29 – 00:42
3. Gear 15 on the negative end: no blackening, strip tearsFirst weld nickel strip onto a cell — the weld looks clean with no blackening; can’t pull it off by hand, and with pliers it’s very solid, the whole nickel strip tears; gear 15, max is 99.
00:42 – 01:10
4. Gear 28 with thick nickel strip on the positive end, just as solidCan weld 0.4mm nickel strip; switch to thick strip and gear 28, weld onto an old cell’s positive end; clean weld, very solid under pliers, the strip snaps; no problem welding lithium cells.
01:10 – 02:05
5. Dozens of welds in a row; 99 gears, over-temperature / discharge protectionDozens of welds in a row with no problem at all, still solid; 99 gears to set freely for different materials and thicknesses; over-temperature and discharge protection for extra safety.

Creator’s tips
- Gear 15 for thin nickel strip, 28 for thick; 99 gears to match material and thickness 01:05
- Clean welds with no blackening + strip tears before the weld under pliers = a solid weld 00:50
Li-ion safety
- The machine has over-temperature and discharge protection 02:38

There’s a higher-power one in the shop window, it can weld 1MM thick
